Oh... My... God...

Line 1416 is scheduled for a test flight this morning.

UPDATE: SHE'S FLYING

And landed. Unless she crash landed in the desert near the border, I'm guessing Flight Aware is screwing up, and the flight lasted about 100 minutes. First flight in four years, and she might have crossed 20 hours total flight time now.

So 1416 most likely has a customer. Woo hoo! Can't wait to see her painted so we can know who it is.

  1. Haha! Turtle, I enjoy your blog partially because of how much excitement you have for 747s and the interesting commentary that provides, great blog title. And glad to hear she's flying of course! Where you think she's heading? Says something about Wells Fargo on FA? And any update on ln1376?

    1. I think Wells Fargo is the actual owner or conservator of the plane. I'm not sure of the exact relationship with Boeing. I'm guessing either Qantas changed their minds again (or it was a false rumor), or maybe someone like Kalitta took advantage of Wells Fargo's/Boeing's despair at Qantas bailing last minute and jumped in for a good deal.

  2. What do you make of this picture posted on Twitter . I was not aware of any Korean B747-8i being built yet.

    1. Some strange fake I guess. The state of KPAE around it looks like it's from a couple years ago. It's a decent attempt, but the first Korean 747-8I isn't going to roll out for almost a year.

    2. Yeah, has to be a photoshop job. There's definitely a 747-8F test aircraft in test livery still in the background. :-)
