Korean Air in the Air

Line 1506 RC051 HL7630, Korean Air's first 747-8I, had her first flight today. She's been sitting around in storage for eleven months, so it's about time. Korean Air should take their first 748I next month, with nine more to follow.

Great shot by Royal S King

    1. Really curious about B-HKX. An 18 year old BCF coming back online? Need to follow up on what happens to her.

  2. Despite the Doom and Gloom Everywhere there are signs of some kind of worldwide economic recovery. That being said there is no certainty in these things and if Freight Airlines are putting Freighters back into the Air, it could just mean an 'under capacity' that will soon be filled in the short term. I won't say what is what., except that Any Good News is Good News now. Bad news is kind of expected these days and an Announcement from Chicago will close this chapter for this quad.

Unless of course, the FAA makes it mandatory for everyone to buy them and paint them black.

    1. The 747 will limp along through 2020 at least, I'm pretty sure. The lack of any passenger version interest is still sad.

  3. I'm wary of speculators, they've ruined the market for everybody. There are no good stocks to buy and people are all hand to mouth, waiting for cash. So this is 'new dawn' that was so hyped about in the eighties. Damn I'm getting old.

    1. Fairly boring and old looking livery. You'd think with the big bucks they spend they'd make their plane look a little more flashy.
